I Wonder...

A while back I read this book:

A Place for Wonder: Reading and Writing Nonfiction in the Primary Grades
Click on the book to check out this book on Amazon.

Love it!!!  Now that I am thinking about setting up my Kindergarten classroom for next year, there are several ideas from the book that I am planning to implement.

I created this paper this year when we were studying forest animals.

Here are some samples from my kiddos.

I wonder if opossums eat garbage.  I learned that opossums eat garbage.

I wonder if opossums have teeth. I learned opossums have teeth.
I wonder if skunks stab people.  I learned skunks do not stab people __ (?) spray people.

Click on the picture above to download your copy of this sheet.  Hope you can use it!

I really liked that book as well. We do a "Wonder Wall" every year where the kids write questions they have on sticky notes and on Fridays we look up the answers online (modeling how to do research as well :). They really love it and come up with some intriguing questions sometimes. My favorite was "do fish drink water?". Didn't know the answer to that one myself.
